Oil cylinder bore
After you have drained the fuel tank, protect the
inside of the engine as follows:
• Remove spark plug, pour approximately one
ounce (30 ml) of engine oil into spark plug hole,
and crank slowly to distribute oil.
WARNING: Avoid spray from spark plug
hole when cranking the engine slowly.
• Replace spark plug; do not connect spark plug wire.
Change oil
• Change oil if it has not been changed in the last
three months. For instructions on how to
change oil refer to the Maintenance section of
this manual.
Clean engine
• Clean engine and remove any grass clippings,
dirt, or chaff from the exterior of the engine.
• Remove any dirt or debris from cooling fins, air
intake screen, levers, and linkage.
OTHER
• Do not store gasoline from one season to
another.
• Replace your gasoline can if it starts to rust.
Rust and/or dirt in the gasoline will cause
problems. Store unit in a clean, dry area. Do not
store next to corrosive materials, such as
fertilizer.
NOTE: If storing in an unventilated or metal storage
shed, be certain to rustproof the equipment by coating
with a light oil or silicone.
