
SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS
TO LEVEL MOWER HOUSBNG
Adjust the mower while tractor is parked on level ground or
driveway. Make sure tires are properly inflated (See
"PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS" on page 3 of this manua0.
Iftires are over o runderinfiated, you will not properly adjust
your mower'.
SiDE-TO-SIDE ADJUSTMENT (See Figs,. 25 and 26) -
....You will need two (2) standard 2 x 4 short pieces of wood
to make the following adjustment, Similar blocks measur-
ing t-I/2" thick may als0 be used,,
; Raise mower with attachment lift control to allow two
(2) 1-1/2" thick blocks to be placed under rear edge of
mower deck,
o Place one block directly behind right mandrel, Place
the remaining block under the stamped ridge on left
side of rear edge of mower deck
NOTE: Be sure blocks clear all hardware that may be
exposed on underside of deck,
• Lower' mower deck to its lowest height of cut position,
o Loosen nut "C" so that the adjustment plate can move
up and down freely_
o Be sure the mower deck rests level on both 1-I/2" thick
blocks, Retighten nut "C",
o Raise mower with attachment lift control and remove
blocks from under' mower,
PLACE TWO (2) 1-112" THICK BLOCKS UNDER REAR EDGE OF
DECK AS SHOWN (Usa wood 2 x 4's or equivalent)

FRONT-TO-BACK ADJUSTMENT (See Figs. 27 & 28) -
IMPORTANT: DECK MUST BE LEVEL S1DE*TO-SfDE. IF
THE FOLLOWING FRONT-TO-BACK ADJUSTMENT IS
NECESSARY, BE SURE TO ADJUST BOTH FRONT LINKS
EQUALLY SO MOWER WILL STAY LEVEL SIDE-TO-SIDE
To obtain the best cutting results, the mower' housing
should be adjusted so the front is approximately 1/4 to 3/4"
lower than the rear when the mower is in its highest
position.
Check adjustment on right side of tractor. Measure dis-
tance "F" directly in front of and behind the mandrel at
bottom edge of mower housing as shown.
o Before making any necessary adjustments, check that
both front links are equal in length
o If links are not equal in length, adjust one lir_kto same
length as other link_
o To lower front of mower housing, loosen nut "G" on
both front links an equal number of turns.
o When distance "F" is 1/4" to 3/4" lower at front than
rear, tighten nut"H" against trunnion on both front links.
o To raise front of mower housing, loosen nut "H" from
trunnion on both front links. Tighten nut "G" on both
front links an equal number of turns..
o When distance "F" is 1/4" to 3/4" lower at front than
rear, tighten nut"H" against trunnion on both front links°
NOTE: Each full turn of nut "G" will change dim.. "F" by
approximately 3/8 inch.
o Recheck side-to-side adjustment,.
