Your Phone
Backlight
The display and keypad are illuminated by a
backlight. When you press any key, the backlight
illuminates. It turns off if no key is pressed within a
given period of time, depending on the Backlight
option set in the Phone Settings menu. When the
phone is connected to a car kit(optional), the
backlight remains on from 5 p.m to 8 a.m with the
phone closed and remains on all the time with the
phone open.
To specify the length of time for which the backlight
is active, set the Backlight menu option (6-5); see
page 81 for further details.
Service Light
The service light is in the top right-hand corner of the
phone. It flashes when services are available on the
phone.
To activate or deactivate use of the service light, set
the Service Light menu option (6-6); see page 82
for further details.
