Installing the SIM
TheSIMintheRavenisasmartcardsecurelystoringthekey
identifyingacellularsubscriber.Generally,youwillonlyneed
toinstallaSIMonceinthelifeofthemodemanditmaybe
pre‐installedbyyourSierraWirelessRepresentative.

IftheSIMwaspre‐installedacti vationofyourmodemis
complete.SkiptotheRavenPlacementsectionand/ortothe
DUNinstructions,ifyouneedDial‐UpNetworking.
Cellular Account Required
• Cellularaccount‐Touseyourmodemyouneedtohavea
SIM(Subscriber IdentityModule)withanactiveaccount
withaniDENcellularprovider.
Software Required
• Terminalapplication‐forexampleMicrosoftHyperTer‐
minal.
Hardware Required
• Serialcable‐Astraightthroughserialcable.
• Poweradapterandapowersource‐Youwillneeda
powersupplyandpowersourceforthemodem.
• PCorLaptop‐Toconfigurethemodem,youwillneeda
computerwithanavailableserialport.
