A variety of business-enhancing 3Com applications run seamlessly
with either the NBX or VCX Connect IP telephony solutions. The
3Com eXchange Call Center provides sophisticated call handling
and real-time reporting to reduce the number of dropped calls in
queue and average wait times. It applies business-specific
requirements to route callers to an agent and provides supervisors
with tools for fine-tuning staffing to align with call volume. For
more comprehensive multimedia functionality and connectivity,
the 3Com EPICCenter Contact Center provides sophisticated call
queuing and routing that includes blended inbound/outbound
campaigns. Calls can be routed based on agent skill sets.
Agent-customer web chats extend customer contact choices and
provide fully manageable, auditable communications sessions.
The 3Com IP Conferencing Module lets businesses leverage their
existing IP network for ad-hoc, meet-me, instant and scheduled
conference capabilities. Web-based conference controls facilitate
collaboration among business contacts, customers and co-workers.
NBX Solutions — Affordable, Advanced Voice over IP
NBX IP telephony solutions, with their unprecedented level of sim-
plicity and commitment to standards-based networking protocols,
give small- to medium-sized businesses an exceptionally easy to
use and manage communications system. Intuitive, multi-language
web-based system administration streamlines initial system set-up
so that users can enjoy 10 minutes to dial tone. Three platform
options let organizations match their business needs and budget
requirements. And to increase productivity, all NBX platforms
deliver a full suite of high-value, embedded applications, including
Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) and graphical Call Detail
Recording (CDR) — further extending the basic cost benefits of
IP-based communications. NBX solutions also offer voicemail/
email integration so that workers can access their voicemail
messages from their email inbox using any common media player.
VCX Connect Solutions—IP Telephony with
Integrated Unified Messaging
Organizations with up to 1500 phone users can now replace aging
PBX systems with an advanced, standards-based communications
system that integrates IP telephony and unified messaging
applications onto a single platform. With its use of Session Initiation
Protocol (SIP) for signaling, the VCX Connect platform lets businesses
cost-effectively deploy SIP-compatible devices and applications to
reduce cost of ownership and increase investment protection, while
improving communications and collaboration. Advanced Unified
Communications features such as Find Me/ Follow Me and Presence
give office, remote and mobile workers the flexibility to remain easily
connected with co-workers and customers. Additionally, when used
with a VCX Connect system, the 3Com Convergence Client — included
with each purchase of a 3Com Series IP phone for the VCX Connect —
enables advanced multimedia capabilities such as video conferencing,
desktop sharing, secure internal instant messaging and softphone
functionality. And to optimize business continuity, the VCX Connect
systems also support resiliency options that include redundant power
supplies* and redundant disks (RAID). VCX Connect platforms also
can be supplemented with a back-up server for full telephony and
application redundancy, and a secondary server can be located at a
different site for geographic redundancy.
