This chapter contains a list of solutions for problems the user may encounter while
using the Modem, as well as answers to some of the more frequently asked ques-
tions about the Modem.
I have more than four phones in my home.Where can I get more microfil-
ters?
The USB Home DSL Modem package includes four microfilters. If more are
needed, contact a local electronics retailer.
It has been a while since I signed up for DSL service with my Internet Service
Provider and my service still has not been activated.What should I do?
Contact the Internet Service Provider to find out about the status of the
DSL service.
My computer cannot find my USB Home DSL Modem.
If the modem installation has been performed and the computer is not finding
the modem, check all connections, then click Start on the computer’s desktop.
Select Settings, Control Panel, System, and Device Manager.Ifyou see a yel-
low exclamation mark or red “x” next to the “Home DSL Modem” under
“Network Adapters” in the “Device Manager” window, contact Actiontec
Te c hnical Support.
Can I share my DSL line with more than one computer in my home?
Yes, but only with an Ethernet card.
Can I talk on the phone while being connected to the Internet?
Yes.
