Chapter 1: System Overview
1.1 System Features
The ASUS AP130-D5 is a stylish barebone server featuring the ASUS
P4B533-M motherboard. The server supports the Intel
®
Pentium
®
4 478/
Northwood processor, and includes the latest I/O, audio, and video
technologies through the chipsets embedded on the motherboard.
Following are highlights of the server’s many features.
Processor: Support for Intel Pentium 4 processor 533/400MHz FSB,
with 512KB L2 cache and speeds up to 2.8GHz or faster
Memory: Two DIMM sockets support up to 2GB of system memory
using unbuffered ECC or non-ECC PC2100/PC1600 DDR DIMMs
System Chipset: The Intel
®
845E Memory Controller Hub (MCH)
provides the processor interface with 533/400MHz frequency, system
memory interface at 133/100MHz operation, and 1.5V AGP interface
that supports AGP 2.0 specification including 2X/4X Fast Write protocol.
The MCH interconnects to the south bridge ICH4 via the Intel
®
proprietary
Hub Interface.
LAN PHY: The Intel 82562ET LAN PHY works with the integrated MAC
in the South Bridge (ICH4) to fully support 10BASE-T/ 100BASE-TX
Ethernet networking
Audio CODEC: The C-Media CMI9738 is an AC’97 2.1 compliant audio
CODEC designed for PC multimedia systems.
Storage: Two 5.25-inch drive bays (one occupied by CD-ROM), two
3.5-inch drive bays, and a 1.44MB floppy drive
Expansion: Three PCI expansion slots, one AGP 4X slot
Power Supply: 200-watt ATX power supply with a 115Vac/230Vac
voltage selector switch
Security: Equipped with security chassis keylock
In case of inconsistencies between the technical specifications in
the P4B533-M and the AP130-D5 user’s manuals, the
specifications in the AP130-D5 prevail.
