1.7 System memory
1.7.1 Overview
The motherboard comes with two 184-pin Double Data Rate (DDR) Dual
Inline Memory Modules (DIMM) sockets.
The following gure illustrates the location of the sockets:
1.7.2 Memory Configurations
You may install 256 MB, 512 MB and 1 GB unbuffered non-ECC DDR DIMMs
into the DIMM sockets using the memory congurations in this section.
•
Installing DDR DIMMs other than the recommended congurations
may cause memory sizing error or system boot failure. Use any of
the recommended congurations in Table 1.
• Always install DIMMs with the same CAS latency. For optimum
compatibility, it is recommended that you obtain memory modules
from the same vendor. See Table 2 for qualied DDR DIMMs.
• Due to chipset limitation, DIMM modules with 128 Mb memory
chips or double-sided x16 memory chips are not supported in this
motherboard.
