If you are not able to resolve a problem with your FOMIM, call Cabletron
Systems Technical Support for assistance (see Chapter 1, Section 1.6,
Getting Help).

Led Color Description
Error
Condition/Recommended

LNK
(Link/
Fiber
Port)
Green When on, a link is
established
between the
FOMIM Fiber port
and the fiber device
at the other end of
the segment. LED is
on as long as the
link is maintained.
If off, the link between the port
and fiber device has been
broken.
Check the connectors at each
end of the segment to ensure
that they are free of dust. Clean
the connectors if necessary.
Reconnect the segment and
check the Link LED again.
RCV
(Receive)
Yellow When flashing the
FOMIM is receiving
data packets from
segments connected
to the associated
port.
If off, the FOMIM is not
receiving packets.
Check that the module is firmly
installed in the MMAC.
CLN
(Collision
Present)
Red When flashing, a
collision is being
detected on one or
more segments
connected to the
MMAC. Note that
periodic flashing is
normal.
Excessive flashing or on solid
indicates excessive collisions.
ERR
(Error)
Red Remains lit when the
temperature within
the MMAC chassis
rises above 40°C.
