Main Power and Control Panel Power
The machine has two power switches: the main power switch and the control panel
power switch. When the main power switch is turned ON, the control panel power
switch is also turned ON. If you want to shut down the machine, you must turn OFF
the control panel before turning OFF the main power.
How to Turn ON the Main Power
This section explains how to turn ON the main power.
NOTE
For instructions on how to turn OFF the main power, see “Turning OFF the Main
Power,” on p. 2-4.

Make sure that the power plug is firmly inserted into the power
outlet.
WARNING
Do not connect or disconnect the power cord with wet hands, as this may result
in electrical shock.
IMPORTANT
If the main power indicator does not light up, make sure that the power plug is properly
inserted into the power outlet.
If the optional Cassette Heater Unit-37 is attached, it will enter the Standby mode
when you turn ON the machine’s main power. For more information on the Cassette
Heater Unit-37, contact your local authorized Canon dealer.

Press the main power switch
(located on the left side of the
machine) to the “I” side.
The main power indicator on the control
panel lights up when the main power is
turned ON.
