The external antenna models (the AP 3600e and the AP 3500e) differ in appearance because the AP
3600ehasfewerantennaconnectorports,primarilyduetothedualbandantennasystem.
TheAP3600ehascombinedallthe
antennaports(dualband ) sothateachantennaportcantransmit
simultaneouslyoneachband;iftheantennaportswerenotcombined,thiswouldhaverequiredeight
antennas. TheAP 3600has fourtransceivers (transmitter/receiver)radio portsper bandfor atotal of
eighttransceivers,fourineachband.Thisadditional
radioperbandpermitsbeamformingto3SSclients
usingClientLink2.0toimprovetheoverallperformanceofall802.11nclientswithone,two,andthree
spatialstreams.
