Introduction
The Opteron-based ProLiant DL585 server is a 4-way, x86 rack-optimized server delivering best-in-
class performance, industry-leading management, and enterprise-class reliability for large data center
deployments. The DL585 is a 4-way platform for high-performance 32-bit and 64-bit computing
requirements. This capability allows IT organizations to protect their large x86 investments and
manage their 32- to 64-bit transition.
Customers can order the ProLiant DL585 server in a 2P configuration or upgrade it to support four
processors. Computing environments for which the server is particularly well suited include:
