1. Connect theHX2endof thecabletotheconnectoronthebottom of theHX2.
2. Connect theUSBtypeAconnectorontheI/O cableto aUSBport onaPCor
laptop.
ActiveSync starts automatically whentheUSBcableis connected.
WhentheHX2loses connection(e.g., enters SuspendMode), theconnectionto
ActiveSync is lost. WhentheHX2resumes, disconnect thePC endof thecableandre-
connect.

Setting Up the Radio
If theaccess point uses anauthenticationprotocol(WEP, LEAP, etc.), yourradiomust
usethesameauthentication. Pleasecontact yourIT department forWEPkeys orLEAP
credentials. PleaserefertotheHX2Reference GuideforinformationonusingWPA.
1. TapStart > Programs > Summit > SCU OR taptheSummit Client Utility
icononthedesktop.
2. TaptheAdmin Login buttonandenterthepassword(default =SUMMIT).
3. TaptheProfile tabandmake suretheDefault profileis selected.
4. Select SSID andenteryourSSID value.
5. If theaccess point is usingWEP, select WEPfrom theEncryptionpulldown
list.
6. TaptheWEP keys/PSKsbuttonandentertheWEPKey(s)andtapOK. Skip
tostep12.
7. If theaccess point is usingLEAP, select LEAPfrom theEAPTypepulldown
list.
8. Select WEP EAP from theEncryptionpulldown list.
9. If theCisco/CCScertifiedAPis configuredforopenauthentication, set the
Auth TyperadioparametertoOpen.
10. If theAPis configuredfornetwork EAPonly, set theAuth Typeradio
parametertoLEAP.
11. TaptheCredentials buttonandentertheUserNameandPassword.
12. TaptheCommitbuttonto save theradioconfiguration.
13. TaptheMain tab. Wait fora radioconnectedmessage.
14. TaptheAdmin Logout buttonwhenfinished.
15. Reboot theHX2.
