To load a CD into a vertically mounted CD-RW drive, do the following:.
Note: Drive CD tray design might be different than shown (varies by supplier).
1. Press the Eject/Load button .
2. Insert the CD into the tray, make sure the disc is placed securely behind the
vertical mounting tabs1.
3. Close the loading tray by pressing the Eject/Load button, or by gently pushing
the tray in.
Ejecting a CD manually
If you press the Eject/Load button and the tray does not slide out, turn off the
computer. Straighten a large paper clip to form a tool, as shown in the illustration.
The straightened end must extend at least 45 mm (1.8 in.). Insert the extended end
into the manual-eject hole on the front of the drive (see “Front view of the drive”
on page 3). Push the paper clip into the hole until the tray opens. Gently pull out
the tray until you can remove the CD.

Using the software
This section explains the software associated with the CD-RW drive.
Using Windows XP native recording with your CD-RW drive
Your CD-RW drive is fully compatible with the recording functions built into
Windows XP. You can record data CDs without adding any additional software if
you are running Windows XP. If you install the DLA software that comes with
your CD-RW drive, Windows Native recording will be disabled and DLA will
perform the formatting and writing functions. The CDs that you create with
Windows native recording can be used in most versions of Windows without any
special readers.
