1. The total distance of the fiber optic lengths cannot exceed the limits stated in the table. Each switch
used inline within a single collision domain reduces the overall segment length by 40 meters (131
feet).

Be sure to observe the following guidelines when selecting a site for your
switch.

❑ Select a site that allows you to easily access the data cables and power
cord.
❑ Use dedicated power circuits or power conditioners to supply reliable
power to the device.
