Preconditions
For operation of the cable modem the following
conditions need to be satisfied:
Broadband cable connection with backward
channel,
Network-compatible PC (Ethernet 10/100Base-T
or USB 1.1).
Connections
When connecting the cable modem, follow the
steps below in order, see wiring diagram on page
29.
• Connect the RF input (2) of the modem to the
antenna socket. Make certain beforehand that
the socket has backward channel capability,
e.g. Kathrein ESM 30.
• For the connection use a coaxial cable with F-
type connector plugs.
• The connecting cable must have CE confor-
mity and exhibit a shielding factor in compli-
ance with class A of >85 dB (e.g. Kathrein
ETG 15 / ETG 30).
• Connect the power adapter to the D.C. volt-
age input (1) - DC IN 12 V - and to the mains
supply.
Use a) the Ethernet or b) the USB connection.
a) Connect the 10/100Base-T Ethernet connec-
tions with one another.(Western socket) of
your PC and those of the cable modem (3).
b) Read the readme file on the USB Driver CD-
ROM and make sure that your operating sys-
tem is supported. When installing the USB
connection (4) follow the instructions from the
Readme file.
