 Connecting USB devices

YoucanconnectaUSBdevicetoyourcomputerbyinsertingitsUSBplug

(TypeA)intotheUSBportonyourcomputer.

ThefirsttimeyouplugaUSBdeviceintoaUSBportonyourcomputer,

Windowsautomaticallyinsta llsadriverforthatdevice.Afterthedriveris

installed,youcandisconnectand reconnectthedevicewithoutperforming

anyadditionalsteps.

BeforedisconnectingaUSBstoragedevice,makesureyourcomputerhas

finishedtransferringdatabythatdevice.ClicktheSafelyRemoveHardware

andEjectMediaiconinthenotificationareaoftheWindowsdesktopscreen

toremovethedevicebeforedisconnecting.

Note: Typically,Windowsdetectsanewlyconnecteddeviceafterconnectingit,andthen

installsthedriverautomatically.However,somedevicesmayrequireyoutoinstallthe

driverbeforeconnecting.Checkthedocumentationprovidedbythemanufacturerof

thedevicebeforeconnecting.

Note: IfyourUSBdeviceusesapowercord,connectthedevicetoapowersourcebefore

connectingit.Otherwise,thedevicemaynotberecognized.
