Locating connectors on the rear of your computer
Figure 2 “Rear connector locations” on page 10 shows the locations of the connectors on the rear of your
computer. Some connectors on the rear of your computer are color-coded to help you determine where to
connect the cables to your computer.

Connector Description
Ethernet connector
Used to attach an Ethernet cable for a local area network (LAN).
Note: To operate the computer within FCC Class B limits, use a Category 5 Ethernet
cable.
USB connector Used to attach a device that requires a USB connector, such as a USB keyboard, a
USB mouse, a USB scanner, or a USB printer. If you have more than six USB
devices, you can purchase a USB hub, which you can use to connect additional
USB devices.
HDMI connector
Used to deliver uncompressed high-denition video and multichannel digital audio
signals through a single cable. This HDMI connector can attach a high performance
monitor, a direct drive monitor, or other audio or video devices that use an HDMI
connector.
Note: HDMI-in connector does not support audio-in function.
