To display the Talk Group ID:
1. If the scanner displays the text tag for a
transmission, press TEXT. The ID code
appears.
2. Press TEXT again to cancel.
Troubleshooting
Problem Solution
The scanner is not
working at all.
Cause:
The AC or DC
adaptor might not be
connected.
The batteries might
be dead or need to
be recharged.
If the scanner does
not operate when
you connect a DC
adaptor, the DC
adaptor socket might
be dirty.
Be sure the adaptor’s
barrel plug is fully
inserted into the PWR
DC 9V jack. The center
tip of the adaptor’s
barrel plug must be
set to positive.
Recharge the
rechargeable batteries
or replace the
standard batteries.
Unplug the DC
adaptor from the
power source and
clean the socket, or
check the adaptor’s
internal fuse.
Problem Solution
The scanner does not
receive any stations
or reception is poor.
Cause:
Antenna might not be
connected correctly.
Squelch setting might
be too sensitive
causing it to pick up
unwanted, partial or
weak transmissions.
Antenuator might be
on so your scanner
might not receive
weak signals.
The scanner might
need to be initialized.
Check the antenna.
Check the squelch.
Check the Attenuator.
Turn the scanner off
then on again, or
initialize the scanner.
The scanner is on but
does not scan.
Cause:
The squelch might
not be adjusted
correctly.
There might only be
one channel or no
channels stored in
the scanner.
The keylock might be
turned on.
Turn SQ clockwise.
Save more
frequencies into
channels.
Turn off keylock.
