4. After removing the plastic cap,
using your thumb and the index
nger, hold the CPU at the north
and south center edges.
5. Align the CPU key, the semi-
circle cutout, against the socket
key, the notch below the gold
color dot on the side of the
socket.
6. Once both the CPU and the
socket are aligned, carefully
lower the CPU straight down
into the socket. (Do not rub the
CPU against the surface of the
socket or its pins to avoid dam-
aging the CPU or the socket.)
7. With the CPU inside the socket,
inspect the four corners of the
CPU to make sure that the CPU
is properly installed.
8. Once the CPU is securely
seated on the socket, lower the
CPU load plate to the socket.
9. Use your thumb to gently push
the socket clip down to the clip
lock.
Warning: Please save the
plastic cap. The mother-
board must be shipped with
the plastic cap properly
installed to protect the CPU
socket pins. Shipment with-
out the plastic cap properly
installed will cause dam-
age to the socket pins.
