Besuretopressthebuttononthebackofthe
calculatorbeforeusingitforthefirsttime.
Evenifthecalculatorisoperatingnormally,replace
thebatteryatleastonceeverythreeyears.Dead
batteries can leak, causing damage to and malfunction
ofthecalculator.Neverleavethedeadbatteryinthe
calculator.
The battery that comes with this unit discharges slightly
duringshipmentandstorage.Becauseofthis,itmay
requirereplacement soonerthanthenormalexpected
batterylife.
Lowbatterypowercancausememorycontentsto
becomecorruptedorlostcompletely.Alwayskeep
writtenrecordsofallimportantdata.
Avoid use and storage in areas subject to temperature
extremes. Verylowtemperaturescancause slowdisplay
response,totalfailureofthedisplay,andshorteningof
battery life.Also avoidleavingthecalculatorindirect
sunlight,neara window, near a heater or anywhere
else it might become exposed to very high temperature.
Heat can cause discoloration or deformation of the
calculator’s case, and damage to internal circuitry.
Avoiduseandstorage inareas subject tolarge amounts
ofhumidityanddust.Take care never to leave the
calculatorwhereitmightbesplashedbywateror
exposedtolargeamountsofhumidityordust.Such
elementscandamageinternalcircuitry.
