HandlingPrecautions
Besuretopressthebuttononthebackofthe
calculatorbeforeusingitforthefirsttime.
Evenifthecalculatorisoperatingnormally,replace
thebatteryatleastonceeverythreeyears.Dead
batteries can leak, causing damage to and malfunction
ofthecalculator.Neverleavethedeadbatteryinthe
calculator.
The battery that comes with this unit discharges slightly
duringshipmentandstorage.Becauseofthis,itmay
requirereplacement soonerthanthenormalexpected
batterylife.
Lowbatterypowercancausememorycontentsto
becomecorruptedorlostcompletely.Alwayskeep
writtenrecordsofallimportantdata.
Avoid use and storage in areas subject to temperature
extremes. Verylowtemperaturescancause slowdisplay
response,totalfailureofthedisplay,andshorteningof
battery life.Also avoidleavingthecalculatorindirect
sunlight,neara window, near a heater or anywhere
else it might become exposed to very high temperature.
Heat can cause discoloration or deformation of the
calculator’s case, and damage to internal circuitry.
Avoiduseandstorage inareas subject tolarge amounts
ofhumidityanddust.Take care never to leave the
calculatorwhereitmightbesplashedbywateror
exposedtolargeamountsofhumidityordust.Such
elementscandamageinternalcircuitry.
