2 ACU16-C Amp Control Unit
Introduction
The Yamaha ACU16-C Amp Control Unit is a CobraNet interface offering 24-bit D/A con-
version of up to 16 CobraNet audio channels, which are output via Euro-block connectors
for connection to up to eight 2-channel power amplifiers. Up to 16 ACU16-Cs can be used
on a single CobraNet network, providing D/A conversion of up to 256 CobraNet audio
channels. Primary and secondary CobraNet ports are provided for integration in systems
with built-in redundancy.
In addition, the ACU16-C works as an interface for Yamaha’s NetworkAmp Manager soft-
ware, which runs on standard Windows PCs and offers control and monitoring of up to 512
Yamaha PCxxxxN series power amplifiers (32 amps per ACU16-C), up to eight NHB32-Cs,
and up to 16 ACU16-Cs. A PC can be connected directly to the ACU16-C by using either
USB or RS-232C. Multiple units can be managed from a single PC connected to any
ACU16-C or NHB32-C on the CobraNet network.
As of this writing, the Yamaha PC9500N and PC4800N power amplifiers can be networked
with the ACU16-C. Please check the Yamaha Professional Audio Web site at the following
