It isrecommended that you make test cutson scrap
wood. Stand at the frontof the saw and pushthe
wood tothe blade with the miter gage.
_1= WARNING: Make sure the blade guard is
lowered over bladeand isworkingproperlyto
preventpossibleinjury.
• Set the bladeto the fightdepthforthe workpieceby
tumingthe height handwheel.
• Set the mitergage to 0". Make sure mitergage
knobis securelytightened.
• Place a supportthe same heightas the top ofthe
saw table behindthe saw for thecut work.
• The mitergage may be usedin either of the two
g_:_ovesin thetable. When usingleftgroove, hold
workpiecefirmlyagainsttheemitergage basewith
yourleft hand and gripthe knobwithyour right
hand.When usingthe rightgroove, holdworkpiece
firmlyagainst the mitergage base withyour right
handand gripthe knobwith yourlefthand. See
Figure44.
• Checkthat the wood is nottouchingthe blade.
Insertthe key and liftthe switchto the ON position.
• Letthe blade buildup to fullspeed beforefeeding
the workpieceintothe blade withthe mitergage.
• Holdthe workfirmlyagainst the mitergage and
pushthe miter gage to feed the workintothe blade.
• When the work iscompleted,pressthe switchoff
and removethe key.
