Step 2: Removing the External Battery Module
Use this procedure to remove the external battery module:
1.
Disconnect the battery cables from the UPS.
CAUTION: It is normal for a small amount of electrical arcing to occur when
disconnecting an external battery module from a UPS. To minimize the amount
of arcing, remove the battery cables quickly and firmly.

Set the used external battery module aside to install the replacement
module.
CAUTION: Load devices will not be protected from utility power failure until the
battery module is successfully replaced.
