Extending the PowerEdge 1550 in the Rack
Follow this procedure to extend the PowerEdge 1550 in the Rack.
# Extending the 1550 in the rack
1. There are no prerequisite steps to perform before removing the front bezel.
2. To extend the PowerEdge 1550 in the rack, perform the following steps:
• Remove the front bezel. The image that follows shows the bezel on the PowerEdge 1550 in
the rack. The steps to remove the bezel are enumerated in the procedure Removing the
Front Bezel in the Disassembly section.
3. • After removing the front bezel loosen the thumbscrews.
4. • Pull the PowerEdge 1550 forwards out of the rack. Part of the way back it will catch at two
leaf springs, one on each side. They are shown in the image that follows.
NOTE: All of the field replaceable units (FRUs) are accessible when the PowerEdge 1550 is
fully extended yet still racked. A fully extended PowerEdge 1550 is shown in the image that
follows.
