Procedure

Locate the battery socket. See "System Board Components" on page 15.

Press the battery-release lever away from the battery until the coin-cell
battery pops up.
Replacing the Coin-Cell Battery
Procedure

Insert the battery into the socket with the side labeled
+
facing up, then
snap the battery into place.
Postrequisites
1
Replace the drive cage. See "Replacing the Drive Cage" on page 39.

Replace the front bezel. See "Replacing the Front Bezel" on page 35.

Replace the fan shroud. See "Replacing the Fan Shroud" on page 20.

Replace the computer cover. See "Replacing the Computer Cover" on
page 18.

Follow the instructions in "After Working Inside Your Computer" on
page 11.

Enter the system setup program and set the time and date. See "Entering
System Setup" on page 73.

Update the BIOS settings with values you may have noted before removing
the coin-cell battery. See "System Setup" on page 73.
