174 Adding and Replacing Parts
NOTE: If the memory module is not installed properly, the computer may not boot.
No error message indicates this failure.

Tilt the module cover towards the front of the system. (Lift the memory
module cover but do not remove it.

Carefully lower the memory module cover and allow it to snap into place.

Replace the keyboard and hinge cover. See "Replacing the Keyboard" on
page 171 and "Replacing the Hinge Cover" on page 170.

Insert the battery into the battery bay, or connect the AC adapter to your
computer and an electrical outlet.

Turn on the computer.
As the computer boots, it detects the additional memory and automatically
updates the system configuration information.
Confirm the amount of memory installed in the computer:
