Chapter 7: Using the Optional Port Replicator
Component Icon Description
PS/2 keyboard port Plug a PS/2 keyboard into this port. Attaching a PS/2
keyboard to your port replicator may deactivate the
built-in keyboard.
PS/2 mouse port Plug a PS/2 mouse into this port. Attaching a PS/2
mouse to your port replicator may deactivate the
touchpad.
USB ports Plug USB (Universal Serial Bus) devices (such as a
USB Iomega™ Zip™ drive, printer, scanner, camera,
keyboard, or mouse) into these ports.
S-Video out jack This jack does not work with the Gateway 405
notebook.
Monitor port Plug an analog VGA monitor or projector into this
port. For more information, see “Viewing the display
on a projector or monitor” on page 53.
Parallel port Plug a parallel device (such as a printer) into this port.
Serial port This jack does not work with the Gateway 405
notebook.
