Component replacement procedures
The docking station is whole unit replacement item and the only spare part that requires removal and installation is
the mini hard disk drive adapter.
Serial number
Report the docking station serial number to HP when requesting information or ordering spare parts. The serial
number is located on the bottom of the docking station. The table below identifies the key information that you
need when contacting HP for replacement parts or for service-related questions. Each component identified appears
on the label on the bottom of the unit.
Component Description
Product name This is the product name affixed to the front of your computer.
Serial number (s/n) This is an alphanumeric identifier that is unique to each product.
Part number/ product number (p/n) This number provides specific information about the product’s hardware
components. The part number helps a service technician to determine what
components and parts are needed.
Model description This is the number you use to locate documents, drivers, and support for
your docking station.
Warranty period This number describes the duration (in years) of the warranty period for this
computer.
