Hardware options installation
Introduction
If more than one option is being installed, read the installation instructions for all the hardware options and
identify similar steps to streamline the installation process.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the drives and the
internal system components to cool before touching them.
CAUTION: To prevent damage to electrical components, properly ground the server before
beginning any installation procedure. Improper grounding can cause electrostatic discharge.
Bezel faceplate
Use the interchangeable, colored bezel faceplates in this option kit to customize the look of your server.
Decorative purpose—Choose the faceplate color that complements your office environment.
Functional purposeIn a multiserver office, use different colored faceplates to identify a server unit,
based on the assigned function.

To install the component:
Perform steps 1 to 3 only if the front bezel is secured from inside the chassis.
1. Power down the server (on page 15).
2. Disconnect the power cord from the AC source.
3. Disconnect the power cord from the server.
4. Remove the front bezel (on page 17).
5. Remove the screws securing the bezel frame to the attached bezel faceplate.
