3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see

d. Hard drive (see
Hard drive on page 75)
e. Fan (see
Fan on page 85)
f. Modem module (see
Modem module on page 84)
g. Fan (see
Fan on page 85)
h. Keyboard (see
Keyboard on page 86)
i. Base enclosure (see
Base enclosure on page 91)
NOTE: When replacing the system board, be sure that the following components are removed from
the defective system board and installed on the replacement system board:
SIM (see
SIM on page 68, if applicable)
Memory module (see
Memory module on page 77)
WWAN module (see
WWAN module on page 79)
WLAN module (see
WLAN module on page 81)
Heat sink (see
Heat sink on page 110)
Processor (see
Processor on page 114)
Remove the system board:
1. Release the wireless antenna cables (1) from the routing clips (2) attached to the system board.
