Change the parallel port mode from
Enhanced Parallel Port (EPP, the default
setting) to standard, bidirectional, EPP, or
Enhanced Capabilities Port (ECP).
Set video-out mode to NTSC (default), PAL,
NTSC-J, or PAL-M.*
Enable/disable all settings in the SpeedStep
window. (When Disable is selected, the
notebook runs in Battery Optimized mode.)
Specify how the notebook recognizes
multiple identical expansion bases that are
identically equipped. Select Disable to
recognize the expansion bases as a single
expansion base; select Enable to recognize
the expansion bases individually, by serial
number.
Enable/disable the reporting of the processor
serial number by the processor to the
software.
HDD Self Test Options Run a quick comprehensive self test on hard
drives in the system that support the test
features.
*Video modes vary even within regions. However, NTSC is common in North
America; PAL, in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East; NTSC-J, in Japan; and
PAL-M, in Brazil. Other South and Central American regions can use NTSC,
PAL, or PAL-M.
