Linking to an Infrared Device
(Select Models)
Some notebook models are IrDA-compliant and can
communicate with another infrared-equipped device that is
also IrDA-compliant. The IrDA connection speed standard
is 4 megabits per second (Mbps).
The infrared port supports low-speed connections up to
115 kilobits per second (Kbps) as well as high-speed connections
up to 4 Mbps.
Infrared performance might vary according to:
Performance of the infrared peripheral
Distance and angle between infrared devices
Software applications being used
Interference or obstruction between devices
Infrared signals are sent through an invisible beam of infrared
light and must have an unobstructed line of sight.
