Problem: The projector displays vertical lines, bleeding, or spots.
v Adjust the brightness. See Brightness on page 1-17.
v Check the projection lens to see if it needs cleaning.
Problem: There is no sound.
v Adjust the volume.
v Verify the audio/input connections.
v Adjust the audio source.
Problem: The image is noisy or streaked.
Try these steps in this order:
1. Deactivate the screen saver on your computer.
2. Turn Auto Image off, and then on again. See Auto image on page 1-20.
3. Turn Auto Image off, and adjust the synchronization and tracking
manually to find an optimal setting. See Manual sync and Manual
tracking on page 1-20.
v The problem might be with your computer video adapter. If possible,
connect the projector to a different computer.
Problem: The projected colors do not match the computer or video player
colors.
v Just as there are differences in the displays of different monitors, there are
often differences between the computer image and the projected image.
Adjust the brightness, tint, or contrast from the Display menu. See
Brightness,”“Tint, and Contrast on page 1-17.
Problem: The lamp seems to be getting dimmer.
v The lamp begins to lose brightness when it has been in use for a long time.
Replace the lamp as described in Replacing the projection lampon
page 1-26.
Problem: The lamp shuts off.
v A minor power surge might cause the lamp to shut off. Unplug the
projector, wait at least one minute, and then plug it back in.
v Make sure that the vents are not blocked.
v Make sure the lamp has not been in use for over 2000 hours. The lamp
automatically shuts off after 2000 hours. See Replacing the projection lamp
on page 27.
