5. ProcedureindexandpagenumberinwhichthefailingFRUwasdetected
6. FailingFRUnameandpartnumber
7. Machinetype,modelnumber,andserialnumber
8. Customer’snameandaddress
Note for warranty:Duringthewarrantyperiod,thecustomermaybe
responsibleforrepaircostsifthecomputerdamagewascausedbymisuse,
accident,modification,unsuitablephysicaloroperatingenvironment,or
impropermaintenancebythecustomer.
Thefollowingisalistofsomecommonitemsthatarenotcoveredunder
warrantyandsomesymptomsthatmightindicatethatthesystemwassubjected
tostressbeyondnormaluse.

• Diskettedrivedamagecausedbypressureonthediskettedrivecover,

• Damagedorbentdisketteejectbutton
• Fusesblownbyattachmentofanonsupporteddevice
• Forgottencomputerpassword(makingthecomputerunusable)
• Stickykeyscausedbyspillingaliquidontothekeyboard
• UseofanincorrectACadapteronlaptopproducts
The following symptoms might indicate damage caused by nonwarranted
activities:
• Missingpartsmightbeasymptomofunauthorizedserviceormodification.
• Ifthespindleofaharddiskdrivebecomesnoisy,itmayhavebeensubjected
toexcessiveforce,ordropped.
