Ifthetimesetonthe“Turnoffmonitor”timerintheoperatingsystemexpires,

theLCDbacklightturnsoff.YoucanalsoturnofftheLCDbacklightbypressing

F11 .

Toendscreenblankstateandresumenormaloperation,pressF11 .

Putting the computer to sleep or shutting it down

Whenyouhavefinishedworkingwithyourcomputer,youcanputittosleepor

shutitdown.

Putting your computer to sleep

Ifyouwillbeawayfromyourcomputerforonlyashorttime,putthecomputer

tosleep.Whenthecomputerisinsleepmode,youcanquicklywakeittoresume

use,bypassingthestartupprocess.Toputthecomputertosleep,dooneofthe

following:

• Closethedisplaypanel.

• Pressthepowerbutton.

• Openthecharmsbar,thenselectSettings Power Sleep.

Attention:Waituntilthepowerindicatorlightstartsblinking(indicatingthat

thecomputerisinsleepmode)beforeyoumoveyourcomputer.Movingyour

computerwhiletheharddiskisspinningcandamagetheharddisk,causingloss

ofdata.

Towakethecomputer,dooneofthefollowing:

• Pressanykeyonthekeyboard.

• Pressthepowerbutton.
