In step 2, press the left and right sides of the palm rest toward the center to
release the side latches, as in this figure. Then release the latches indicated by
arrow 3.

Pull the palm rest a little in the direction shown by arrow 4, and then detach the
touch pad connector by pulling the tab with your fingers in the direction shown by
arrow 5.

When installing: Make sure that the touch pad connector is attached firmly.
