Introduction
This Chapter provides an overview of the ADE-4300/ADW-4300's fea-
tures and capabilities.
Congratulations on the purchase of your new ADE-4300/ADW-4300. The ADE-
4300/ADW-4300 is a multi-function device providing the following services:
· ADSL 2/2+ Modem.
· Shared Broadband Internet Access for all LAN users.
· Wireless Access Point for 802.11b and 802.11g Wireless Stations. (ADW-
4300 only)
· VPN Gateway to allow secure VPN connections over the Internet.
· 4-Port Switching Hub for 10BaseT or 100BaseT connections.

ADE-4300/ADW-4300 Features
The ADE-4300/ADW-4300 incorporates many advanced features, carefully designed
to provide sophisticated functions while being easy to use.
Internet Access Features
· Shared Internet Access. All users on the LAN or WLAN can access the
Internet through the ADE-4300/ADW-4300, using only a single external IP Address.
The local (invalid) IP Addresses are hidden from external sources. This process is
called NAT (Network Address Translation).
· Built-in ADSL 2/2+ Modem. The ADE-4300/ADW-4300 has a built-in ADSL
2/2+ modem, supporting all common ADSL 2/2+ connections.
