Connecting Computers to Second-Tier MXU2 Unit(s)
1. Plug the DB25 male end of a CCPnn cable into one of the numbered DB25 female ports on
the second tier MXU2 back panel. Each numbered DB25 female port on the back of the
MXU2 represents a channel on the Selection Menu.
2. Plug the connectors on the cable’s other end into the computer's keyboard, monitor, and
mouse ports.
3. Power on the connected computer.
4. On the Selection Menu <F2>, the line displaying the channel where the new computer has
been connected will turn green.
5. Use the <> and <> keys to select the channel, and press <Enter>.
6. You will now be able to operate the computer just as if the keyboard, monitor, and mouse
were directly connected directly.
7. Press <F5> to access the Administration Menu.
You must login to the base MXU2 as an administrator to access the Administration Menu and
perform administrative configuration menu operations.
8. Select option number 3—Channel Configuration.
9. Using the <> and <> keys, highlight the channel on the second tier MXU2 to which you
have just connected a second tier computer.
10. Press the G key—on the keyboard—to select this computer for channel editing.
11. Edit the name of the computer on the second tier.
12. Enter S to save and then Y to confirm changes, or N to re-edit. Or enter Esc to cancel.
13. Repeat steps 1 through 12 to connect remaining computers to the second tier MXU2 unit.
