3.2.2 Identify Drive command
The Identify Drive command (command code EC
H
) transfers information
about the drive to the host following power up. The data is organized as
a single 512-byte block of data, whose contents are shown in the table
below. All reserved bits or words should be set to zero. Parameters listed
with an “
x
” are drive-specific or vary with the state of the drive. See
Section 1 of this manual for default parameter settings for the Medalist
3240 and the Medalist 2531.
Note.
If the alternate capacity jumper is installed on the ST33240A or
ST32531A, the drive capacity is reduced in Word 1 to 4,092 cylinders.
