Connecting to the network

amountofdatareceived(Rx)andtransmitted(Tx).

Ending a connection
Toendyournetworkconnection:
1. IntheWatcherwindow,click
Disconnect.
Using SMS
SMS(ShortMessagingService)allowsyoutosendandreceive
shortmessages(usuallynotmorethan160characters)through
thenetwork.
Note: Subject to feature availability; check with your service provider
to determine if you have access to this service.
To send/receive SMS messages, you must have 1X service
(page 28). SMS is temporarily unavailable, if you have powered off
the modem (page 36).
SMSmessagessenttoyouarestoredonthenetworkwhenyou
areoutofcoverage.Onceyouhaveservice,themessagesare
transferredtoyourcomputer.
Determining whether you have new SMS
messages
WhenyouhavenewSMSmessages,anumberisdisplayed
nexttotheWatchericon intheDock.Thenumber
indicateshowmanynew(unread)SMSmessagesyouhave.
