Locking the modem
Note: If you forget the lock code, you will not be able to use the
modem until you receive assistance from your service provider.
Tolockthemodem:

Locked.”The

Unlocking the modem

2. IntheWatcherwindow,enterthelockcode(PIN),and
click
Ok.
Ifyoucan’trecallyourlockcode,tryusingthelastfour
digitsofyourmodem’sphonenumber.Ifthisdoesn’twork,
callyourserviceprovider.
Whenthemodemisunlocked,Watchernolongerdisplays
“DeviceisLocked.”
Powering the modem off
Ifyouareusingyourmodeminanaircraft,hospital,orother
environmentwherethemodemmaycauseinterference,you
canpowerthemodemoff(withoutremovingitfromyourUSB
slot),andstilluseotherfunctionsofyourcomputer.
Thisalsoallowsyoutoconserveyournotebookcomputer’s
battery.
Topower
themodemoff:
1. Ifthemodemislocked,unlockit.
2. Closeanyactivedataconnection(inWatcher,click
Disconnect).
