NotethattheTHS4509usedonthisEVMispinoutcompatiblewiththeTHS4508,THS4511,THS4513,
andTHS4520.UserscaneasilyinterchangetheamplifieronthisEVMandpicktheappropriateamplifier
basedoncommon-moderange,powersupplies,andfrequencyofoperation.ContactyourlocalTexas
Instruments(TI)salesrepresentativeforassistanceinselectionoftheseamplifiers.
Connectafiltered,low-phase-noiseclockinputtoJ9.Atransformer,T3,providestheconversionfroma
single-endedclocksignalintoadifferentialclocksignal.
TheEVMalsoprovidesaclockdistributionpathusingtheCDCP1803.TheCDCP1803providesfora1:3
LVDSfanouthelpfulwhenclockingmultipleADCsfromthesameclockingsource.Usersselectingthis
inputpathshouldusealow-jittersquare-waveinput.Inaddition,theCDCP1803jitterperformancemakes
thisavalidclockingsolutiononlyforinputfrequenciesinthefirstNyquistzone,asjitterdegradesSNRfor
frequenciesmuchabovethefirstNyquistzone.Tousethispath,changejumperJP8toshort1–2,and
JP2,JP3,andJP4toshortpins2–3.
TheADS61xx/ADS61B23ADCparalleldigitaloutputsarebroughttoJ10,ahigh-densitySamtec™
connector.SeveraloptionsareavailableinprocessingtheADCdata.
1.ThematinglogicanalyzerbreakoutboardcancapturetheADCdatausingalogicanalyzer.Userswho
choosethisoptionshouldusethecompanionbreakoutboardandTable1fortheconnectiondetails.
