This protocol is the generic name for the IBM 3670 or
3675 communication standard BISYNC with the follow-
ing sub-menu:
The async format is for proprietary credit unions or
older networks. This is the RS-232C standard ASYNC
with the following sub-menu:

The camera port provided on many ATMs was origi-
nally designed to connect to film cameras. Limited data
is available on these ports but it is an easy method of
interfacing. These ports must be enabled in the ATM
setup or will not function so contact your ATM installer
to verify. The data format is RS-232C with special hand-
shaking camera port with the following sub-menu:

PRINTERS Sub-Menu
The tap mode reads the data that is communicating to
an installed printer. If the printer goes off line or runs
out of paper no data will display. In the emulate mode,
the VSSI-Pro simulates a printer and constantly tells
the ATM the printer is on-line and full of paper.
Journal printer taps take the data from the journal or
reciept printer and displays that data. This data is ei-
ther RS-232C or a propietary variation thereof. Op-
tional data converters are required for some printer in-
terfaces.

TCPIP 232 Adapter
Interfacing the VSSI-Pro to the ATM TCP/IP network
requires the TCPIP 232 Adapter along with the VSSI-
Pro. The IP address of the ATM is programmed into
the TCPIP 232 Adapter via on-screen programming. The
ATM LAN cable is plugged into the adapter and the
supplied additonal LAN cable is then plugged into the
ATM. Therefore this DOES NOT require an additional
network port for the ATM interface or any host program-
ming of a VPN router.

This sub-menu is selected when connecting to SNA or X.25
modem taps. The most common is FORMAT I but if the data
does not display in a pleasing format try FORMAT II-IV. The
CAT ELF is for the Citibank ATM network only.
