ALi M5281 manual located in “d:\doc” folder in the Soyo driver CD.
Installing ALi M5281 during OS Installation
Install driver during Windows XP installation
1. Go to “d:\raid\m5281\floppy” directory, (assuming that
your CD-ROM is drive d) copy all the files and directory
to a floppy disk.
2. Windows XP will start to inspect your hardware configuration
3. Press “F6” when the message “Press F6 if you need to install a
third party SCSI or RAID driver….” Appear. Below the screen
4. Press S key to specify additional devices when the Windows
XP Setup window appears.
5. Insert the floppy disk of driver, then press Enter to continue
6. In the follow-on window of device type, please select “M5281
SATA RAID Controller (Windows XP)” to continue
7. The follow-on interface will list the devices to be installed, in
which “M5281 SATA RAID Controller (Windows XP)”
item should be included.
8. Press S key to specify additional devices
9. In the follow-on window of device type, please select “M5228
ATA RAID Controller (Windows XP)” to continue
10. The follow-on interface will list the devices to be installed, in
which “M5228 SATA RAID Controller (Windows XP)”
item should be included. (If users want to install other devices,
press “S” at this time.) Press ENTER to continue Windows XP
setup
