CHAPTER 7: MEMORY MODULE(S)
CAUTION: If the memory module door is difcult to close, remove the
memory module and reinstall it. Forcing the memory module door to
close may damage your computer.
NOTE: If the memory module is not installed properly, the computer may
not boot.
Align and insert the memory-module door tabs into the slots on the 4.
computer base.
Replace and tighten the captive screw that secures the memory-module 5.
door to the computer base.
Replace the compartment door (see “Replacing the Compartment Door” on 6.
page 14).
Replace the battery pack (see “Replacing the Battery Pack” on page 7. 11).
CAUTION: Before turning on the computer, replace all screws and ensure
that no stray screws remain inside the computer. Failure to do so may
result in damage to the computer.
Turn on the computer. 8.
As the computer boots, it detects the additional memory and automatically
updates the system conguration information. To conrm the amount of
memory installed in the computer, click Start → Control Panel→ System
and Security→ System.
