Replacement Note for
WS 9650 Only: After you
swing the top chassis back
into position and secure the
green locking levers, you
must reconnect the Ultra
Wide SCSI cable to any lower
drives that may be present.
Important: You must also
secure the Ultra Wide cable
with the Velcro tie wrap that
is on the bottom drive
carrier so that the cable
doesn’t interfere with the
fan. The graphic at left
shows the routing of the two
SCSI cables in the WS 9650.
The internal hard disk drive (SCSI ID 0)
is connected to the Ultra Wide SCSI-3 bus.
One 5.25" Hard Disk Drive or two 3.5"Hard Disk Drives
can be installed on the floor of the server and
connected to the Ultra Wide SCSI-3 bus. (Some
Workgroup Server models come with a second Hard
Disk Drive [SCSI ID 1] installed here.)
