Chapter 2: Basic installation
2.4 Removing the power supply
You must remove the power supply unit (PSU) before you can install a
central processing unit (CPU) and other system components. See page 39
for details on the PSU.
To remove the PSU:
1. Lay the system on its side on a flat, stable surface.
2. Disconnect all power supply plugs in the optical drive and floppy disk
drive.
3. Remove the screw that secures
the PSU to the chassis.
4. Slide the PSU to the left until
the side hook is disengaged
from the chassis.
5. Push the PSU towards the front
panel for about half an inch.
6. Lift the PSU slightly

When removing the PSU,
make sure to hold or support
it firmly. The unit may
accidentally drop and
damage the other system
components.
7. Disconnect the power plugs on
the motherboard.
8. Set the PSU aside.
