A.1 Cable and Connector Information
The following information is provided for those who plan to buy or construct their
own cables. A description of the different connectors is also available.

ABLES
Use UTP low-capacitance (less than 15 pF per foot) cable for all serial cables.
Serial cables may be up to 600 feet (180 m) in length.
To avoid potential signal-corruption problems, avoid running cables near
fluorescent light fixtures, generators, large electrical motors, and any other
potential source of electromagnetic interference.
