Accessing the Switch
Accessing the Switch
After initial configuration, you can access the switch in the following ways:
Serial console access—You can use a serial port connection to access the CLI.
Out-of-band (10/100BASE-T Ethernet) access—You can use Telnet or SSH to access a Cisco MDS
9020 Fabric Switch or use SNMP to connect to Cisco Fabric Manager.
Note To use Cisco Fabric Manager, refer to the Cisco MDS 9000 Family Fabric Manager
Configuration Guide.
Figure 3-2 illustrates serial console access and out-of-band access.
